The General Store
The General Store, now operated by Michael from Little Doo's Kitchen, provides shoppers with even more local goodness including sweet treats, hand-crafted artisan products and many more goodies that make for great gifts! A continuous supply of new products is a great reason to check out The General Store on a regular basis. It also gives a few of our vendors, who are not able to vend with us on a regular basis, the chance to make their products available at the market.
The General Store is now located on the upstairs level. Hours of operation coincide with the market's hours: Saturdays from 8:00am to 1:00pm and Wednesday afternoons from 3:30 to 6:30pm.
Make The General Store a spot to check out every time you stop by the market! Market gift certificates are also available for purchase from The General Store.

Both Hands offer a delicious assortment of high quality, tasty, healthy rustic bread baked in their wood-fired dome oven. Unrest Coffee & Roasting Company (Wolfhead Coffee)
Taking our name from the shape of Lake Superior (some see the contour of a wolf’s head), Wolfhead Coffee is a northwest Ontario gem. Tucked away in one of Thunder Bay’s oldest suburbs, and close to the bustling cafés of its downtown core, we do small-batch coffee roasting and smoking in our custom-designed and built roastery. We create quality, flavourful and unique coffees that match the power and beauty of the lake that inspires us.
Boreal Forest Teas
Boreal Forest Teas is a handcrafted, northern-inspired organic herbal tea business, located in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Boreal Forest Teas blends premium quality organic cultivated herbs with sustainably wild-harvested plants and berries from Canada’s boreal forest. We support two Ontario First Nations’ Non-Timber Forest Product (NTFP) initiatives through the purchase of blueberries and cranberries for use in our teas, as well as local, organic growers.
Roots to Harvest
Roots to Harvest, a local not-for-profit organization, is passionate about providing educational opportunities for youth to engage with local agriculture and cultivate healthy communities. Members engaged in its work also take part in selling the fruits of their labour, including a tasty locally-made granola. This crunchy and healthy treat is available for purchase at The General Store.
Ron’s Photo Imaging
Ron was a past vendor at the market. Now Ron offers his talented photographs in the form of note cards and postcards, available in the General Store for purchase. Ron can be spotted around the rural community with camera in hand and enjoys photographing nature and old abandoned farmsteads and homesteads.
J.R. Watkin's Products
J.R. Watkin's products are crafted in the USA since 1868 and have a strong and loyal customer base. They are available through the General Store.
Watkin's Products are one of the few items sold at the Market that do not meet the local mandate, however they are still available at the Market, as the local distributors were one of the founding members of the Market. Just like their loyal customers, we remain loyal to that connection.
Our seasonal and standard gift certificates are available at our General Store found upstairs at the Market. They can be written for any denomination and we encourage larger amounts to be divided into smaller amounts. For example, a $80 certificate would be 4 x $20. Possibilities are almost endless when redeemed and with no expiration dates they may be used anytime.

Laura Heerema Photography
Inspired by natural ruggedness and beauty that we see everyday in Thunder Bay and area, I am always looking for something to photograph. From the tiniest water droplet to the vast sky filled with clouds and colour at sunrise and sunset, I love to capture it with my camera.
My goal is to capture photos that inspire, trigger emotion, create memories and slow us down just a bit to recognize the beauty that is all around us. I am honoured to inspire others with my photography by offering prints, canvasses, calendars, cards and different gifts so that others can have a little bit of Thunder Bay with them wherever they go.
